We all have our 'UGLY' days. Yesterday was one of those days. I just woke up feeling urgh, blurgh, bleh. My outfit was in my opinion super cute but I was feeling the 'Damn, why don't I look like Heidi Klum' vibe. I had my new polka dot skirt + black tee + silver fully sequined belt + black and white oxford boots. I don't have a picture because contrary to popular believe, I don't just bust a move and take photos everyday :P
http://ph-se7en.blogspot.com/As I walked to the LRT station for my usual daily LRT ride, I headed to the minimart to get some yums iced coffee for that extra uuumph. A woman also at the counter looks at me and tells me that she notices my hair and clothes each time I come to the station. To prove it, she tells me exactly what I wore the last time I was there :))
She giggles and the man behind the counter calls my outfit 'CUTE' too. I couldn't help but laugh along obviously with a healthy dosage of my signature witch-ish hardy har har. SHE totally MADE MY DAY :D I believe that being fashionable isn't tossing out everything in your wardrobe and restocking it with what's on the runway today. God knows I do not have legs that run for miles.
What I do believe fashion is... it is the art of expressing yourself with different colours and styles. It is about letting your personality shine! If there is one thing I've learnt when it comes to having a wacky sense of fashion is IT ALWAYS PUTS A SMILE ON PEOPLE'S FACE. Humans are naturally drawn to all things shiny, sparkly and colourful. Weird because times the average city dweller randomly smiles at me and I think he/she must like what I'm wearing. People warm up to you as opposed to someone that's trying to look erm 'cool'. I either get laughed at ooooooor a smile of approval :) My new addition to the SHRINE OF PREMEELA.... Cutie Pie Butterfly in Sunshine Yellow at a mere RM38 *clap clap...Recessionista strikes again*
ps: The most important thing I've learnt is not to dress in what you perceive slims you down *as most women including me sometimes do* buuuuuut to dress in what flatters you :D Any shape or size can look catwalk ready with the right fit. That fabulous physique is god given so bloody well love it! I still tend to look a lil wacko jacko but trust me when I say, better to be unique than to blend into obscurity. Stand tall today and look into the mirror as you scream Tom Jones famous words 'I believe in miracles, where you from, you sexy thing!'.
