*Double...no wait...gazillion drool*
Years ago, a girly girl lived in her tiny modest castle of Petaling Jaya... her nose stuffed between the pages of The Goblet of Fire... SHE WAS IN LOVE... Yum, Cedric Diggory... though he met a tragic ending and all driving us girls to lunacy... we'd go for Mr.Yee's Physics class with silent screams of 'NoOoooOoOooOoO! Not Cedric!'

Yes, I was pissed... extremely pissed when the role of my sexy hero was cast to ahem, Mr.IDidntThinkHeWasYummyEnough, Robert Pattinson! He was absolute crap as Cedric!

But lord, isn't he just edible as Edward in Twilight!!! *squeals like the teenage bimbo clearly still alive and kicking in me :P My mum says... I'd never have married your Dad if he was a goody two shoes... so well, now I know that I'm genetically predisposed to lusting for confident devil may care bad boys/ vampires/ hard rock biker men/ tortured souls/ artsy fartsy loonies!

Yeah, I buckled and gave into the hype...shame on me...I'm obsessed and am drowning myself in the second book of the series just now :) *I miss waiting for a new Potter already

ps: I know vampires are supposed be all hot and irresistible... but this is bonkers... hormones overdrive... David Boreanaz in Buffy, Brad Pitt in Interview, Scott Speedman in Underworld, Gerard Butler in Dracula, The Count in Van Helsing * drowns in a pool of drool

*I am not worthy*
OMG... OMG... OMG... I keep repeating this mantra... surely now the pair of so deliciously tacky its got to be sexy heels that I saw plastered on the billboard as I drove home every evening is now...

MINE....ALLLL MINE!!!

Since my days of teeny bopper-dom... I've never liked people and their need to parade the fact that they have money to splash around when children are dying of hunger in the form of bags and shoes *LOOK AT ME...LOOK AT ME... LOVE ME... ADORE ME... BAH HUMBUG... brands like Guess with its name sprawled all across its items are a no-no for fashionista Prem.

Suprisingly, I do like Guess by Marciano though... very unlike the basic Guess theme I believe... the label doesn't appear on the goods at all! Vavavooom with a touch of chic style!

I've seen this shoe here and there...picked it up and shed some tears at its rm418 price tag *MADNESS...SHEER MADNESS! I placed my fingers around the shiny baggie holding my precious shoes and had this stupid smile plastered on my face all day long... :)

THANK YOU LORD FOR THE SALE!
This shoe ...makes a statement...
I've always been in touch with my inner sex kitten *meow...roar!

It gets better! OMG...Estee Lauder's got their limited edition red siren nail polish XMAS special! Its called Red Tango and its so edible... smooth and shiny ...same price as OPI RM55 & far more worth your $$$!
ps: Auditioning Sugga Daddies...me wanna this pair too! Christian Louboutin - Anemone- Black Bow. FYI...CROCS/FLIP FLOPS/TOILET SLIPPERS ARE NOT... I REPEAT NOT SEXY!!! BURN EM ALL! Phua Chu Kang yellow boots much?

*Pls Lord...Hope it all falls into place!*
Okay, I've decided that paupers don't deserve to travel around the world just yet :P Instead of taking a trip to both India and Indonesia...I've kicked India to the curb *my family goes there often mah...can go anytime when I'm rich & famous!

Now, I've planned an extended trip not just to Surabaya but A GRAND ADVENTURE AROUND INDONESIA! I'm on a mission to fit Surabaya - Yogyakarta - Bandung - Jakarta into one week.

Its no easy feat... I'm praying that my hotel reservations work out... I manage to score the train tickets I need when I get there... I don't get bloody robbed... broaden my mind, gain some perspective, enhance my intellect & empty my pockets *bye bye $$$.

I'm a lil wee bit afraid because its my first backpacking trip on my own...Porkchop goes back to work after Surabaya and I'm on my own for the rest of the journey...IN THE SPIRIT OF SELF DISCOVERY AND ALL!

Well, tips and advice will be very much appreciated
...a call...a sms will do
Wish me luck!

*Hahah, well deserved*
I tell my mum and dad...these grownups...certain grownups...I don't know why they keep questioning the decisions I've made...I know they still see me as that goofy teenage bimbo they first knew... I'm pretty smart you know...Got my Masters and all...Thou hast insulted my capabilities...Why the lack of trust?

Me and my B.I.G F.A.T E.G.O were dealt with a blow yesterday... I made a HUGE MISTAKE... HUUUUGGGEEE MISTAKE. I admit its a mistake that will cost me tons... seems though my brains are very much intact...my age betrays me... They were right! Thank you for being so graceful about it...Listen to those who are old and wise young grasshopper... I'll try :P

SURABAYA ADVENTURE PLANNERS EXTRAORDINAIRE

*Yes, I now have the flu too*

As he who is great would say...Veni, Vidi, Vici...She who is Gay and Mighty clearly came, saw and conquered my nose passage...she's spread her glorious germs...a day out and here I sit all flu-ish, sneezing my arse off... with my cup of hot soupy Vegetarian Maggi Mee!

Not being your average girls about town...we wanted something with pizzaz! Warm, yummy comforting...off to Sunway Pyramid we went! Chosen hotspot...Pasta De Gohan. Imagine there are mock ups of their 72 types of pasta sprawled across their glass walls obviously bent on enticing unwilling Malaysians towards it *DuDu...to you this would be as close to heaven as you can get :P

Pasta de Gohan
LG 2.126A,
Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall

I was a little skeptical really because well...ITALIANS MAKE PASTA...NOT JAPANESE :P With faith in my love for Japanese food *craving for some delish sushi...we headed in. The food was excellent! Absolutely drool worthy...I LOVED IT! Of course there's always a catch...good food comes with an equally disturbing price tag...each dish starts from RM20 above.

Next after twirls in clothes we love but do not own *Sugar daddies needed!... We head on to PappaRich! Looks just like the one near my place :) I love their Hazelnut coffee and steamed bread.

You can clearly see that the fact the economy isn't doing so good has affected Christmas... the decoration around Pyramid wasn't as lavish as it used to be....no reason to run along and snap photos. There wasn't even a Santa in sight! OMG CHRISTMAS IS HERE!!! *Yes, I'm Hindu and all but we've always upheld the spirit of Xmas as a family... pressies & hot chocolate... YUMS!!!

*FREEDOM!!!*
With any religion, one is told to have faith...it is the fundamental human right to choose to lead ones life the way one believes is best...blind faith has no place in todays modern society where people are clearly educated and are capable of analysis as to what is right and wrong.

Stating that, religions that have survived the test of time have done so by allowing free will. Confidence that what is being projected to the disciple is RIGHT and TRUE will show when people CHOOSE to follow the principles preached by CHOICE... NOT BY FORCE.

ps: There were no...as I affectionately call my buddies 'Tudung-ies' in my Yoga class last night. Pity, some were marvelous and inspired me to try harder. Its not right!

pps: OH GLORIOUS LAZY HOLIDAYS...It took me a week to get the exam jitters out of my system...I still felt the buzz of 'I gotta study'... Now.... Its fantabulous!!! I feel like a French woman... Je m'appelle Prem...on a lazy Sunday everyday...My skin's glowy... my nails perfectly manicured... my hair's bouncy... me arse yoga-tasticly perky... my brain absorbs book delights... my tummy absorbs vanilla tea... and OMG I FOUND THE PERFECT PAIR OF CLASSY SATIN PEEP TOED HEELS just like the pumps by Steve Madden in Bangsar!!!
Thesis? What thesis? CRAP!

*Spoilt*
I've got all sorts of friends... slowly accumulated along the years... I've got a bunch ranging from nerdy buddies to bimbo bunnies. I'm perfectly capable of blending into any crowd but... but... SPOILT BRATS ARE IN A CLASS OF THEIR OWN SHEILDED FROM THE REAL WORLD :P *I still love you, flaws and all.

Sigh, its like rocket science when you try to describe that you'd like to take the cheaper alternative even when you can afford the more expensive one... just because... you're used to juggling your own finances without mummy/daddy's help... you stinge and scrape to save where you can because you're so gosh darn used to it!

Normal water as opposed to mineral water for me please... budget hostels as to hotels please... Wednesday half price movie tickets as to full price please... Old town kopitiam to Starbucks please... my own ATM card to Daddy's Credit Card please... standing on my own two feet to being spineless please

Argh, its the parents I blame :P

ps: And yes, I can hear you 'look its the pot calling the kettle black' whisper... I'm not T.H.A.T spoilt!

*On to the next!*
Just read Jemima J by Jane Green last night... as a feminist, I DIDN'T LIKE IT! Its an interesting read if your looking to understand the point of view of a woman lost in todays superficial society.

Now, I begin the mind broadening masterpiece which is War & Peace by Leo Tolstoy *Can I once again say that Anna Karenina is my all time favourite book :P

ps: Is Twilight any good?

I don't want to get lost in the hype and read it for the sake of it and all...BUT CEDRIC of POTTER's in the movie!!! Saw the trailer minutes age and he's all dark, smouldering and broody, just the way I like my vampires...Y.U.M! Gosh, then it got me thinking of Interview with a Vampire...major drool fest with Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise :))

*Another bit to check off my -Things to do before I turn 30- list
Me and my roomie LATA *Oh woe...she's gone...making chapati in a far away land. Well, yes...me and Lata made this list when we lived together in the toilet hole sized hostel room we called home for years. It was a list of things we must do before we turn 30!

I have to admit...I've scratched off quite a few crazy entries off my list...now I can say...BEEN THERE! DONE THAT! What life when its so monotonous eh?

Well, this one clearly wasn't on the list but...I SAVED A CHIHUAHUA YESTERDAY!!! Heheh, was at home for the first time in aaaaaagggeeeessss...just lazing about...making sure I was Ms.Potato Couch. RUFF RUFF!!! Snuggleboy's gone mad...he yelps about and I run out to see the cutest and absolutely lost chihuahua standing in front of my huge Dalmatian with beady wide eyes!

In my pyjamas...I headed out and carried the lil bugger...he tried to bite me but alas his huge head was attached to a tiny short neck keeping my fingers safe and out of his reach :P Funny thing that made the moment memorable is...I'VE LIVED IN THIS STREET FOR YEARS AND TODAY I MET MY FANTASTIC NEIGHBOURS ... UNITED IN THE CAUSE TO FIND THE LIL PUPS HOME!

My immediate neighbour came out and said to me it must be the doggie belonging to this house at the end of the row. He hopped into his car and directed me to the house. Thing is...this is the most he's said to me in 10 years :)) The house seems fairly inhabited...I kept walking down meeting new neighbors that gave me tips on the fact they have seen the pup with this old aunty further down the road. Another uncle followed me to translate between me and the old Chinese aunty.

SEEMS THE PUP DID BELONG TO THE ABANDONED HOUSE...THE FREAKING OWNERS JUST DITCHED THE PUP THERE FOR WEEKS FOR SECURITY WITH NO FOOD OR SHELTER FROM THE RAIN *CRUEL BASTARDS!!! POOR THING WAS TERRIFIED! THIS AUNTY *BLESS HER HEART SAVED THE DOG AND NURSED IT BACK TO HEALTH. The pup was running a fever from the rain and had open wounds along its ears. Now its healthy, she let the pup out to find its home...I told her I think it doesn't want to head home though...She thanked me thousands of times and took the pup in decided to keep it for herself :)

It was nice to know that city folk can be kind despite all the cynicism that comes with the territory. The pup has a new home and I know if Snuffles was lost, we'd want him back safely too! THING IS WITH PETS, THEY LOVE YOU UNCONDITIONALLY, DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT! Read the papers and animal cruelty has become a norm in Malaysia in the form of dog catchers!

KARMA'S A BITCH!!!
IF YOU WOULDN'T DO IT TO YOUR FELLOW MEN,
DON'T DO IT TO AN ANIMAL EITHER!
SAY NO TO ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!

*Where do I start?*
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
breathes deep
screams even louder
OMG OMG OMG! I'M ON HOLIDAY!!!

Okay, it was an extremely hard, mental and emotion ripping semester. The worse yet. It didn't end with the happy bang I wanted it to...the papers were extremely brain buster-rific..I can safely say...THANK GOD ITS OVER!!!

What have I done? OPERATION THE REBIRTH OF PRINCESS PREM BEGINS...lord knows I need it after weeks of sheer hell...I've snored hours...taken an hour long steamy shower...headed out for well deserved yummy meal...read a kiddie novel...JUMPED UP AND DOWN THE HOUSE SCREAMING 'WHERE DO I START?!!!!'...grabbed Mum and headed for a well deserved Thai foot massage! Oh how I love the the fact that beautiful Thai 'women' are dainty but have the strength of a man to really dig in my feet :P

I've gotta start preparing for my 3 week long travel trip. Both trips require physical strength and I've got to...GOT TO...drag my arse to the gym to get my stamina up. I'm going to be the female new centure HOBBIT hiking up mountains and all! I CAN'T WAIT!

*Its like walking on eggshells*
WARNING: CRAZY FEMALE RANTING AHEAD!
What can I say...I'm a happy person...always was...always will be...how do I keep it that way? By being bloody frank of course! Its a simple philosophy I've chosen to adopt when I said 'HELLO WORLD!'...we don't beat around the bush...we don't gossip...we don't take things too personally. I'll say what I have to say in the most polite way possible...if it still isn't 'nice' enough...you can kiss my caramel flavoured arse...my dog loves me anyways :P

Now my problem is...IT DOESN'T WORK IN THIS DRAMA QUEEN DRIVEN WORLD!!! How can I be truthful if people are so darn sensitive? I'm always walking on eggshells! Men are even worse at times...they can't fathom that a woman would spank them and give it to them straight like the big boys they are. People at times take the safer route and rather gossip or keep things to themselves and stew until they explode! I mean its not logical...speak from your heart when something bothers you...there's always a way to be frank without being rude!

How is it the better option to live in constant worry of people not liking you and being depressed yourself? I do not like people pleasers...its extremely fake...that smile and hug when they don't really mean it...I can't trust them to be straight...and they don't have their priorities right...pleasing strangers instead of being good to the people that truly matter...what's wrong with you? Will these 'friends' be there for you in times of need? If they won't why should you care what they think of you so much? Arggghhh!

This entry is for no one in particular...

just so many people just are too embarassed to be themselves...

fat, short, thin, tall,

brainy, dimwitted, loud, quiet,

musical, artsy fartsy, nerd, bimbo...

stop comparing yourself...

the norm is extremely boring & unattractive...

boldness has genius, power & magic in it...

we're all meant to be wacky & different!

Say it with me...I LIKE YOU, BUT I L.O.V.E. ME!

live for yourself...only please yourself !

*NORMAL?*

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it - Ellen DeGeneres

Gosh...I can't believe I'm actually going! I'm going to be heading to INDIA at last!!! Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Tanjore - Tirchy - Madurai for two weeks! The land of culture, food, sparkle and sizzle! The land of my grand grand grand pappy before he headed to Sri Lanka...then to Malaysia :P

I've never wished to go to India with anyone but my oldest aunt...she's a second mother to me and the strongest woman I know though tiny physically. If there ever was a time for the two of us to form memories, this is it! I'M SO EXCITED! Another location down in Premeela tours Asia 08/09!

Here's the photos from the breathtaking GRAND PALACE, BANGKOK!

*Glorious Holidays!*
My to-do list for this 1.5 month long holiday:

  1. Take a moment and scream 'Bloooooody hell...I survived it...MEng's one semester away!' then cringe 'Crap, results will be out soon'.

  2. Gawk at yummy manly men...I've been deprived of all things real being tied down to the 'Filled with all things exciting' Electromagnetics Lab...the most romantic moment I've had the past day is me in my pyjamas & the Petronas man saying 'Hey baby, me...you...lunch...name the place and time'.

  1. Turn back time to when I was pretty cute myself...mission self pamper begins!

  1. Travel of course! This time I'm headed out to Surabaya Indonesia with Porkchop. We'll be hiking across the desert, riding horses *not quite like my Mr.Darcy galloping towards me dream...living by a live volcano!!! I haven't decided on location 2 yet...its a toss between visiting the temples in India & Cambodia.

  2. Sleep...just sleep. Just lie on my bed and think...like I used to when I was 5 :) Catch up on my dusty book shelf.

  3. Head to my nearest Borders...order a grande frappuccino...sit my arse down and have a good read...I love that they don't wrap their books like silly MPH *hmph money grabbing, doesn't give a @!#$* about a more intelligent Msia corporation.

  4. Boogie to all the Belly dancing, Bollywood dancing, Bikram Yoga sessions I can cram within a day. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.

  5. I'm going to LEARN HOW TO SWIM!!! Yes, I want to have a fair chance in any tsunami repeats...This one is dedicated to DuDu thats been harassing me for years to get a diving licence.

  6. Have a good sit down with myself and decide on what the next year will be like. You know, a real Who am I? What am I? moment. I've got the 'Will you be joining us adults in the working world?'...Well, I think not :P

  7. Coping with the loss of the best BFF a girl could ask for. Who will tell me there's a fine line between insanity and intelligence now?

*Lets see...*
It was an open book exam...my very first open book exam...I've always strived to make a mockery out of myself when finals comes around...so I grabbed my entire Data Communications book collection *well, you'll never know which book may inspire the solution to a question right!...tossed them to my loyal nerdy but strong man friends...we walked far up towards the exam hall not quite knowing what to expect.

Having never ever known what it was like NOT HAVING TO REMEMBER FACTS...preparing for this exam was extremely different. What I can say is...Yes, the paper was tough...The exam was prepared by the freaking D.E.A.N of the Engineering Faculty at Uni Malaya after all...my lecturer claims even he couldn't do it! I understood...but I didn't have enough time...may have jotted down plain gibberish as I rushed through the solutions.

Thing is, I've learnt so much...it truly was a analytical brain versus factual nerds moment...don't get me wrong...this means double the work really...reading, remembering and thorough understanding! Whatever the results are, I can safely say I've enjoyed this 'Everyone's so pee-in-their-pants terrified' subject. I am absolutely curious by nature...and loved learning how people around the world are just a fon call away. I'm a better telecommunications engineer for it :)

ps: I've already made an appointment at the spa next Monday after my last paper!!!! Whiiipiieeedeeedooodaaahh! Oh how I have missed sexy, put together, kitten heel wearing, skirt twirling, sparkly eyed and bushy tailed Premeela :P

Random: Being the ultimate History buff...I'm watching The Tudors between study breaks now *No, I don't believe the real Henry VIII...the old, fat, detestable king was so gosh darn sexy! Its still doesn't take the torch from HBO's ROME *awww, tell me you've watched it...come on...the build up to the murder of Caesar...goosebump worthy! Well, the tale of Henry VIII is exciting enough...with all those wives and 'Off with his head' moments :P

*Vain Vain Vainpot*
Well...this entry is for all the brown skinned people out there :P No racism here please...JUST THAT FAIR SKINNED PEOPLE HAVE SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM THEY DON'T NEED MY ADVICE !

Here I go...I was blessed with glowy caramel skin. I never understood when all my gal pals would say 'OMG Prem...I would so rather be curvy than have horrible skin'...I'd go like :-0 'No way...you can't hide being curvy...bad skin can be hidden with make up right!'

Nah...NOW I KNOW BETTER!!! Since I took up Bikram yoga...my body has never been stronger *yes strength & health matters more to me than being skinny...my Dad taught me that... but my skin's gone bonkers because of the steamy enviroment *no dirty thoughts please...I started sprouting lil pimples...I DIDN'T CARE! You see...I've never thought of it as a problem...until my BFF Prema screamed when she saw me...WTH? UR GLORIOUS SKIN...WHERE'S THE GLOW...THE MARKS! The boys grumble even worse after I got sunburnt in Bangkok!

So yeah...then I looked at myself and realised that SKIN CARE REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE...glowy supple skin shows good health :)

Here's the issue: THERE ISN'T MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM FOR BROWN SKINNED BABES! Most of my pals are doomed to paying thousands for private treatments...THERE HAS TO BE A CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE!

I have to admit...I was sceptical when I hear of the one and only skin care range made for indians...~HIMALAYAS~ Me : a member of Lancome, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, MAC ? Buy something AYURVEDIC?

What can I say...IT'S BRILLIANT! I've got the entire Neem skin care set. My skin is back to its glowy self...I've just got to get rid of the tiny scars that still linger...VERY VERY HAPPY...ITS SUPER CHEAP TOO! I'm a member of Himalayas now too :P

ps: Go to the one...lower ground floor 1U...The women there are extremely helpful, intelligent and very polite :)

Random: OMG...I'm not a fan of P.I.N.K...but the whole look is super cute!
I know...I know...BIMBO...but ME WANNA!

*About time we learnt from history*
I kept my eyes peeled all night logging on to CNN...just waiting...God bless, Obama's won the presidential campaign...he's claimed victory in a historic presidential election....the difference made will indirectly affect us all be it Americans or Malaysians. The world cheers him on.

What I don't understand is how the hell did McCain lose with such a small margin? Obama snared about 62.4 million votes to McCain's 55.4 million. Just goes to show for nearly every brilliant thinker there's an ignorant person. Its petrifying how close we were to a situation worse than what currently exists.

I admit to following the race far closer than I did our own general election. One has to admit that Americans have the advantage of voting based on proper analysis whereas in Malaysia one doesn't hear much of the policies that will bring about change. How can we vote without knowledge?

Will Obama's win bring more acceptance to people of all races? Will this change in perception spill over Malaysia? Need for dominance is a weak step to preserving the power of those that clearly haven't earned it. Be it Malay, Chinese or Indian...we've all suffered injustice through the years...I pray that my children will have fair opportunities...GET THE HELL OVER IT MALAYSIA...WE'RE ALL THE SAME...IF YOU DESERVE IT...A FAIR FIGHT WILL PROVE IT!!!

SAY IT WITH ME...QUOTA WHAT?

*The Big One*
The irony is...the harder you've worked to earn something...the harder it is to accept failure. I've had a life where I've always got what I've wanted...when determined, I will have it! I have a dream and I must...I MUST...achieve it.

I've got to please the Premeela that's put in the effort all those years...despite my SEVERE lack of discipline today, I'm still alright because my mind remembers what she's learnt all those years...the nights spent reading and understanding...analyzing...because she loved it...she wants to be extraordinary in every angle possible...being an average worker bee is out of the question...I can't let her down for a momentary dose of fun.

I've arrived at the big cheese...I'm reaching the point that determines if it all was worth it...I'm continuously working towards the next step...its nearly the last lap...I'm terrified...I know I'm extremely lucky and blessed...I constantly wonder how the hell did I make it this far being an absolute bum...someone's watching out for me :)

9/11 - 16/11

Funny how a few hours can unfold the rest of your life

ps: A dear friend said this to me the other day...'Study hard, I want to walk into MPH one day, see a brilliant book written by Dr. Premeela Nathan'. Millions of little light bulbs went off in my head...I'm once again inspired to make a difference...we will cure cancer...we will have peace...we will cease to feel pain...invinsible!

*Day 2.1*

Aaaaaaahhhh...funny how its usually really tough on me when I have to change my body clock from a student *snores through the day to a normal schedule * well, through the night obviously...HERE I HAD NO PROBLEM zZzZz ALL NIGHT IN A CLOUD OF PILLOWS :)

Prema mumbles into the phone, wake up call at 7am. We snuggle in bed a little longer and walk drunkenly to the shower to get ready for the BEST DAY EVER! *I DON'T PHOTOSHOP MY PICTURES...SO WELL, PREPARE FOR A PAIR OF SUNBURNT PORKERS :))

The coffee was d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s...Ceylon tea of course...yummy boiled chicken sausages...grilled potatoes and tomatoes...omlette with ham bits and mushroom...pancakes with maple syrup...fried rice...toast with butter and jam...HEART SHAPED FRUITS!

Okay....drooling yet? It was the most scrumptious breakfast and the icing on the top was the clear blue skies with lush green all around us. Here's where we got into a bit of a pickle...WE THOUGHT THOSE CUTE SHELL LIKE BITS WERE ICE CREAM TO GO WITH THE PANCAKES...PREMA GRABBED EM OFF MY PLATE...TOSSED IT INTO HER MOUTH AND SPAT IT OUT *blurgh...aww, come on looks like lil scoops of vanilla don't they :P *IDIOTS!

Here's a bit of history to where we were staying at for the trip. The road we were at is called Khao San Road. The popular book 'The Beach' famously described Khao San Road as "the centre of the backpacking universe". Its fabulous because we're minutes away from the legendary *okay, flip through your Sejarah memory bank...Chow Phraya River! There is absolutely no better way to discover Bangkok than from its waterways. The river has been the primary method of transportation of goods throughout the lengthy history of Thailand. The tradition continues today. I'LL NEVER FORGET IT!

Thing is one needs to decide what they are doing in Bangkok really before planning a trip there. Me and Prema are nature/history/architecture/adventure buffs...so staying in the heart of the city where the glamourous night scene was at wasn't for us. We stepped out of our hotel and headed down the road toward the jetty...THE FIRST THING WE SPOTTED...LIKE A LIL LIGHT WAS SHINING DOWN ON ME FROM THE LORD...paaapum...HEAVENLY MUSIC PLAYED IN MY EAR...hahah, see told ya mum...I was never meant to be a Doctor :P

The journey to the jetty took us along side the Phra Sumen Fort. Being our first historical site, we may have hopped in the air a little too high in delight :))

Suan Santichaiprakarn Park, just beyond Khao San Road, has a great view of the Chao Phraya river and the ultra-modern Rama VIII suspension bridge.

Phew...after a 10 minute walk we reach the central pier of the river.

TIP: With public transportation, they usually have tickets that last all day...its like an all day pass...same with Bangkok...they have one for the Skytrain and the boats too. The all day pass for the boat is worth every $$$. You can hop on and off at any stop at all times! They give you a map and general information on sites one must visit along the river stops.

Simply put...WE DIDN'T BOTHER READING THE BROSHURE GIVEN...flipped straight to the map and focused our brilliant brains on deciphering it instead... of course that costs us time and wobbling around longer routes *WHY? OH WHY?

ps: NEXT, 1st STOP... THE GLORIOUS GRAND PALACE *I felt so small...it was magnificent :)
Loving...
The Verve : Love is Noise
MIKA : Lollipop
Coldplay : Lovers in Japan (I love Viva La Vida oh so much<3)
Can someone do us all a favour and assassinate the Britneys and Rappers with cheesy repetitive music out there ? *evil grin

*The perfect Bimbo + Nerd combination entry*

Well, just to say...my baby is back in action after its run in with Sir Snugglelot the swift Dalmation (Long story short...my mutt brilliantly assumes doggie treat in PDA pouch...grabs it with teeth...piercing tooth into delicate touch screen...I was heartbroken)...I've decided that the tooth marks are UBER COOL! Bah...life's meant for adventure ain't it!

*SHOUT OUT TO DuDuButt WHO PATIENTLY STOOD BESIDE ME AS I WAITED AT THE HP IPAQ COUNTER... my tiny black beauty keeps me company as I boink from LRT to LRT... Will any human compare? :P

Here's my review of the HP iPAQ 612c as a telecommunications engineer:

  • It's meant for those with basic software manipulation skills. I have so much fun tweaking with it, adding more and more new functions. It is the business model after all. Comes with the necessary basic programs.

  • Basic alarm system is inefficient in terms of only offering choices in general alarm tunes. Thus, soft and unhearable. Alarm system that accepts mp3 as a tone needs to be installed *grab any freeware.

  • Model comes with Adobe PDF reader but is a hassle to use because one needs to continuously scroll vertically and horizontally to read ebooks properly. After straining my eyes, I've given up.

  • Installed also is Windows Media Player which plays basic the smartphone format. All you need to do is to install another freeware which enables you to play mpeg movies instead or try converting to smartphone format instead.

  • Crappy camera...couldn't be more clear...RIDICULOUSLY CRAPPY! Boasts a 3MP camera but focus quality isn't up to standard. Hmph, my biggest peeve but understandable in a PDA.

  • Speakers aren't heaven sent either...so used to my old Sony Erricson fab speakers this was a downgrade. Consolation comes in the form of great headphones! So, yeap happy indeed.

  • MapKing GPS is fantastic. God sent really :)

  • WIRELESS! Whoopiiieeee...this was the main factor in me waiting for ages for this exact model to pop out! Fast connectivity.

  • Its got the basic Office programs. No security installed. Solitaire and Bubble breakers for gamers. Scribbling note pad for artists. Good battery life. Extreme business like design.

All in all, I'd say its worth the $$$. I guess I want a mini laptop that is mobile. Thus, it was an easy decision to buy a HP iPAQ since my HP lappie is like my other limb. The biggest downside is the oh so easy to crack touch screen :( WTH didn't they add a protective flip cover?

Le DuDu and I are clearly walking zombies... her=over worked, me=bloody finals. Where else could we head down to for some sweet smelling coffee but Pick & Brew!

Yeap as promised...another soul lost to the magic of melted chocolate in a warmed mug *perfect for a rainy day. I'M NUMBER 1!

ps: Brilliant photos by DuDu...I tried not to steal them all...Shepard & Ws were missed...another successful extremely chocolatey day...I passed on your share of the murukku's for DuDu to binge on :P
