Well, what was my treat to myself for turning 24? I treated myself to a facial! I made an appointment with Sothys,Paris The Powder Room in Damansara for a eye treatment *yes,I know I have the worlds worst eyebags, shoulder massage and Vitamin C radiance treatment facial. I had an extremely sweet and friendly lady, Sammy giving me my facial as she explained what each step was done for. IT WAS SOOOO RELAXING,I WAS YAWNING ALL DAY! Hands down, the best was the shoulder and back massage. L.O.V.E. I.T!
With my face all glowy and radiant, me and the women of the family headed to Bangsar to find myself a unique birthday outfit for the party tonight! Of course I had to take em to my fav cafe Marmalade in Bangsar Village :P
Thus, my Bday cake was yummy apple crumble with custard on the side. Absolutely heavenly. We also had the carrot walnut cake that was equally as good. For my vegetarian sister, crunchy french fries. As usual, the girly gang couldn't finish em cakes and we took the leftovers home in goodie bags :))
We rushed home and scrambled to get ready for the dinner party tonight! With no time for makeup touch ups...I got into my new kimono inspired top from Cats Whiskers...its gotta V-neck back with a satin bow tied around the waist...I paired it with sparkly heels and my bedazzled Zara denim skirt...we zoomed off to the venue,Chinese Seafood Restaurant in Segambut,KL.
Well, turning a year older has always been fabulous to me...I believe in the Forever 21 principle. I wouldn't want to turn back time...been there,done that...and am looking forward to what the future holds for me :) My fon wouldn't stop ringing so thank you to all! Am looking forward to all my dates this weekend for the after party!
As the clock struck 12...ding dong...I sipped my fav cup of coffee...pondering on the past year as a 23 year old woman. As of now, I am a brand new 24 year old! What did I achieve? Did I squeeze all the fun I could get? Who did I meet? I think my twenties so far has been a journey of self discovery really. I've grown as a person leaps and bounds each year. Slowly figuring out what I want in life and who I want to be in years to come. Stuffing my milestones of the past year are as below:
I graduated!- There's nothing that compares to the moment when you're on stage receiving that tiny confirmation that the horror and torture was all worth it.
I moved back home- I was an extremely rebellious child and my parents tried to contain the fear that I was moving back home after 5 years being on my own. Even organized the most spectacular 25th anniversary tea party for mum n dad! *Team Prem rawks! It wasn't easy but now my feelings are I'll shoot myself if I had to move to Cyberjaya ever again!
I began my MEng - In my plot of world domination this was a goal I had to achieve to speed through to my final dream. I remember clearly my dad calling me and telling me the letter had arrived and I had got in...I can now say I've tasted both worlds...private U & public U.
I learnt the art of juggling multiple jobs - Come on say it with me in super speed! She's a blah blah blah and a blah blah...Each job has rewarded me with different experiences that I would have never obtained in a cubicle :P ROOF IS NOW FIXED!
I did alotta Cuti-Cuti Msia travelling - I've been to so many places Melaka, Pangkor,Langkawi,Penang,Spore*near Msia anyways and so many more! This year I hope to expand to around Asia...India's my first stop!
I began dating! - Gosh,what can I say...now with my priorities and goals straightened out, I have the time to date and because I don't take it too seriously, its been an absolute blast. I've still no idea what my type really is.I cannot wait to see what this year holds for me! Damn Moulin Rouge has given me totally unrealistic expectations!
Reunions - I've got in touch with so many Sri Petaling peeps, Sri Amanians, MMUians. I keep bumping into people everywhere I go now :)) I'm a firm believer of surrounding oneself with positive people and mutual support. Its the key to success. What are friends for then?
Passion - I've learnt to balance my left brained engineer side with my other passions. I now take art classes *I still can't believe those are my paintings :P This I painted above my bed...I bedazzle my clothes once more! Now I spend more time picking that oh so lovely designer dress. I grow herbs and love cooking for myself. I love buying flowers from Petaling Street for my table. I love baking cookies and munching them to BBC dramas.
I NOW TAKE THE FREAKING RAPID KL/METRO/SJ BUS!!!! - Ok, I know what goes around comes around...so maybe I shouldn't have laughed at those kids at the MMU bustop as I zoomed past in my buddies cars. Now I don't have the gang to drive me around :( My friends know that I'd do anything to get out of taking the bus...now I pretty much live in em! Catch me wizzing around KL hopping from job to job in them scary bumpy rides.
Most importantly,this year I discovered who I am and who I'm gonna be - I've slowly learnt that I am an extremely curious person. Everything facinates me...people, science, nature. I enjoy debates and listening to opinions of my peers. The moment of truth came when I realised that I'd have to kiss bye bye to my image of carrying my lil tote bag with my corporate suit on. I'll never have the glamour that comes attached with a regular 9-5 job. This is my passion,I love learning,I love teaching,This is where I belong,I am going to make a difference *speech speech!
I agree I may have taken an extremely different route in the rat race. I am happy. Is that not what's most improtant? I've got so much plans for my 24th year, so many goals to achieve, one massive dream to come true if it all goes according to plan, no my car will have to wait, I hope to look even more fantabulous!

Okay...my mum says 'The two of you need a haircut!'. So off we go to One Utama to get our funktastic curls tamed by our fave hair stylist. I've had a whirlwind of a weekend and took the chance to catch up on zZzZzZz till noon. Waking up...jumped into my sexy skirt and heels...me n BooBoo were out the door.
We've both had extremely tough semesters and for once were both having coherent holidays! Instead of heading to the saloon as promised....weATE! SHOPPED! CAMWHORED! We first headed to Vietnam Kitchen...BooBoo and I had soursop milkshake...very light and yummy!
Shop shop shop until we've gotta take a break and head to Old Town Kopitiam! Yummy White Coffee...we sat there for hours discussing our plans for world domination! *Pinky and the Brain! Shop shop shop some more and the night ended with the mall closing down and the two of us waiting for our ride home in McD's.

Well, my Saturday began with me oversleeping as usual...missing my ride to my party...dressing up in whatever was clean...running for my life because the guests were waiting on me to arrive at University Tower Kondo before they started chomping on the food! ps: the view of my home Peejay was W.O.W!
Okay, rewind...given that doing one's Masters is nothing like being an undergrad...why? Well, partly we only meet each other two days of a week which is on Sat and Sun. We're all half asleep because classes can go on nonstop from 10am-9pm with two one hour breaks. In the struggle to copy down notes we don't have much time to mingle or make new buddies. We all know each other but there isn't really a sense of friendship.
Thing is...ITS SUCH A PITY!Being in this university, part of the perks is the huge melting pot of cultures and people around. My class is filled with people from countries like Sudan,Msia,Africa,China,Iran,Iraq and much more. Its so different from being in MMU really...because I've learnt to dream bigger! I know a lil more of the world outside my lil country! I am far more creative when it comes to research because they think differently! I am grateful to be a Msian when I hear of the pain these people go through just to get a good education! I am also oh so extremely jealous of the beauty in other parts of the world *I get to peek at pics! Basically I've learnt to think outside the box :)
Today...we had an all girls lunch party at a classmates house! It was absolutely F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S! We got to know each other and had so much fun exchanging views. I now know the official wedding dance in Sudan *Alotta booty shaking! I've seen how beautiful sarees in Bangladesh are. Oh and girls all around the world are vainpots that wanna look cute 24/7 :P
We had a lovely lunch thanks to our party host, Zinnat. We giggled and groaned at the courses we've taken...when the results will be out...what we're gonna do once its all over...Zinnat and her husband,Piku kept slipping more food on my plate!
After eating and laughing at the fact that we all...from all parts of the world...love tall, dark and handsome men...yummy spicy food...sweet desserts...we proceeded to camwhore!
The small party ended fabulously and I was stuffed...we were given candy with yummy almond cake and rushed to get home before the storm began. I HAD OTHER PLANS OF COURSE!
I dragged me arse to Megamall to meet my hottest girlfriend, MUM for the SALE! Everywhere I go...adventure follows...thus my moment of glory for the day is as below :P ISN'T THE PANDA CUTE!!! My mum can't hold the camera straight thus the blurness...
I am totally proud of myself...saw a lovely pair of peep toe heels with a bow and I resisted buying em! *pat on the back!
Thought of the day: When I see how far these women have to go to achieve their dreams...It makes me feel invincible...Most people dream but they don't dream BIG enough! I will not whine when tough times come.I think Msians have a cushy life thus lack the spark to fight to reach greatness and their full potential...I absolutely intend on leaving my mark in the world!
I was talking to another one of my sisters from another mother last night. As always the conversation crossed from a whole range of issues...politics,racism,global warming,state of the world...the important stuff you know!
Okay who am I kidding :P Yes we do talk about the serious issues but what are girlfriends for if we can't talk about clothes,shoes,hair,coffee,food...we realised that the two of us need to get our butts into the gym down the road. As you know...the gym is no fun without a buddy crying along with you :)) I really miss my yoga days...my toes touching my head and all...we must find the time!

Okay...I recently found out that the Sale is upon us!!! Weeeeee...I thought to myself...Premeela, save up...you have tons of stuff to add into your wardrobe. I've always had the case of having a huge closet but nothing to wear :P Oh and thanks to mum...I've always adopted the CLASSY NEVER SKANKY rule! Hunting for something new that isnt so much fashion victim-ish and can still be worn after the trend has passed is a looooong process.
My resistance to not shop till the MegaSale began quickly melted when I spotted this bottom pleated black skirt going for 50% off! OMG OMG...exactly what I've been hunting for! Yes...I know I have waaaaaaay too many black skirts...my arguement will be...I couldn't help myself!
My fashion BFF, She who is Gay & Mighty squealed with me...Prem...its cute...get it! It wasn't too short and it flared at the bottom just oh so cutely. I love skirts because I am bootylicious and its a crime not to let the curves show with a cute skirt...I hate *HATE pants! So yes, I didn't wait for the sale to begin but I did get what I want anyways :)
Now my dilemma is I'm hunting for a classy pair of ankle boots to go with it...any ideas?

Snored like a glorious pig till noon...spent the night out at the Curve with the Terminator...I had promised to take him to the most sinful spot in the world! The sin being dessert we headed to Kim Gary for dinner first to have my fav Cheese Baked Chicken Rice...OMG EXTRA CHEESE! The enviroment was extremely pretty and the lighting was lovely. The waiters were quick and we even managed to snag a booth to sit at.
Faster all CHHHEEEEESSSSEEEEE-AHOLICS UNITE! warning...only to be had once in a blue moon due to yummy content!
My food-aholic dinner buddy was done with his food in mere seconds leaving me to slowly slurp up the yummy cheese tasting every lil bit *drool. Can't believe its been a year since I've had it!
Feeling oh so stuffed...I made my way to the bazaar they have at the Curve every weekend. Being a girl I wanted to spend hours there but it would mean torture for my ride home. Now, the place of suprise is another spot thats soooooo extremely sinful, a girl can only afford the rare once in a blue moon trip there...PADDINGTON PANCAKES!
I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU PEOPLE RESIST THIS!
It was the most fabulous place...with the cutest food one can get one's hands on...I love heading there after the long day out with my girls :) Stuffed...realising its been awhile seen I went on a food adventure...I came home feeling bliss!

OMG THE DAY HAS ARRIVED....I've been waiting and waiting like an eager beaver for this moment...As my close friends know...I am a movie snob! Yes, I hate mind numbing crap with ridiculous story lines and farts become its humour....anything on the lines of Meet the Spartans,Scary Movie, Epic Movie, any American Horror movie, anything with the ghetto, anything that is oh so too mushy...so you can see...I rarely go to the movies...and a good movie to me comes once in a blue moon...
SO FOR GAWD SAKES...WHEN NARNIA CAME TO TOWN I WAS FIRST IN LINE! I was to watch it with DuDuButt and pals and with Gay twice but well as YiFen says 'When our blue moon and stars align'...Thus,my loyal partner in crime for all good movies, Gay was my date.
*Specially for the girls...DOUBLE DROOL....I'd be the damsel in distress and he can save me anytime...swoons
Besides the obvious man candy...I found myself unable to feel like I was swept along as the tale progressed. Loving the book, I may have had high expectations. I came away dissapointed that the battle scene wasn't epic enough as it was in The Two Towers LOTR...There weren't enough moments of glory between good and evil...Mr Tumnus was deeply missed...
All in all it was a good movie...I can't help the comparison with my all time fav LOTR...Now, how long is it gonna take Peter Jackson to release The Hobbit *squeals
Me and Gay totally famished...headed to Jack's Place in One Utama. We usually had their set lunches. Very affordable for the money savvy.
We chatted as we chowed down the yummy food...we had tomato soup for starters...chicken chop with tomato puree and spaghetti next to steamed veges sprinkled with pepper...dessert was one heavenly scoop of choc ice cream drizzled with melted chocolate...lastly a cup of coffee.
The day was absolutely fabulous...we bumped into so many old friends from university and school. Highlight of the day was bumping into an entire Sri Aman clan! We sat and updated each other on what we've all been upto for the past few years...they squealed 'I cant believe you and Gaya became engineers!'...once there lived a bimbo...how fast have the years gone by!
All MMU people know that come May 28th there will be hell to pay...eggs,pepper,yogurt,coke pretty much anything they can get their hands on. I've always had the best bday parties ever because believe it or not....my roomie Roshi...was born on the same day as I was! This year...graduated and all...we had to meet and wish each other happy being a year older :P
So the Lata n I hopped into her Kembara and headed down to spot the Tumor *muahaha an inside joke...its been a pretty long time and we were totally excited!Parking was hell...the weather was hell...I am sunburnt once again...from the beyond we see an adorable looking-pink loving-huge grinning person wave at us!
The date was an absolute blast...we caught up on the hip haps in our lives...there were moments of sheer shock...the Tumor flipped her french fry in the air as she tried to absorb everything she heard in the speed of light before her lunch break ends.
THE HISTORY LESSON
Me and Roshi go back waaaaaay long...we were destined to be the closest of friends...we first met in the JPA scholarship interview fresh after Form 5...sat next to each other as she stared at me giggle and debate why I deserved the scholarship...few months later...i headed into MMU...peeked into my apartment and a voice yelled 'Y.O.U!'...it was my new housemate Roshi! We slowly got to know each other only to find out we were stuck together in the same lecture group and we're both born on the same day! From housemates...we became roomates. She was a constant shoulder for me to lean on all those 5 years I spent in university really. We both have the loudest voices and our giggles alone could bring the roof down!
Funny...we're born on the same day but our personalities couldn't be more different than light and day :P
Locked in a constant state of confusion...some are bent on extremely sweet acts of chivalry...some are bent on being jackasses...some are bent on switching between the two :))

Stuck in a man's world...I'm constantly suprised at the similarities and the differences between the two sexes...its downright hilarious! What I do know is after the working week spent in an all boys club...I've come to appriciate my girls soooooo much more!
The holidays are here and I'm looking forward to spending it with my women...eating,shopping and gossiping all day long has never seemed more appealing! *Super huge hugs n love!
Okay, Mothers Day's here...crap, what do I do? Normally one would worry...how can I make this a night to remember...how do I say its because I popped outta you that you're a mother anyways :P The Kandiah cousins sat together...plotted a genius plan...we'd take em mum's to Madam Kwan for dinner! Being a family with all the occupations covered...we'd let the doctors place the reservations since they always snag the special perks!
NOT BEFORE I HAD MY HB3 ROOM 5004 REUNION!!!! ITS BEEN ONE WHOLE YEAR!
Me and Prema (MMU's Prem&Prem babes) were already bent on being roomies...as you all know we're so different in terms of personality but our sheer dislike for drama and gossip made us a match made in heaven :)) Just like in campus...Prema had to wake me up...drive over...wait for me to finish getting all b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l...SHE EVEN GAVE ME AN EARLY BDAY PRESSIE...SHOES! Sexy pointy black pumps *love love love em!
OMG we sooooo look half asleep...it was freaking 9am! Anu was in Klang all snuggled up in her bed...we hopped into the Kembara...and as I said just like in campus...we had to call and wake her up as well :P
Anu another engineer like the two of us...blended into our room smashingly...we'd all go to bed at odd hours and I'd off the lights and say 'LET THE SLEEP MARATHON BEGIN'. After working hard for weeks...we'd all snore for 20 hours +++...wake up totally starving and run down to the canteen to snag food before it shuts down.
Updating each other on the hip haps for the past year was a blast! She'd giggle and giggle...we'd shock the crap outta her...she being the oldest amongst the two of us gave us her genius words of advice...WE MISSED HER SOOOOO....Family mah...we lived together! Ever heard the saying 'You only truly know someone when u've lived with em'
Being tired n sweaty...I ran home...took a glorious nap...my cousins were over and we all made our way to Megamall...the place was freaking crowded...god bless we had a reservation! The 11 of us squeezed into our lil corner and had a blast of a night...the party continued at my place and the night ended with all 4 MUM's happy :)
Its very simple...as I've always said...my mama's always taught me that a women's gotta be a combination of beauty and brains...thus, inspiring me to be the person I am today! I've been influenced in everyway by her...I will never be skanky...always classy...I will never be one to be boy crazy *hehe most times...cos there are other things that are just as important...I will never strive for average...always the highest...I will love all things equal art and science...My mum...a facinating person...she's a banker that knows the Big Bang Theory by heart...BEAT THAT!
What have I been up to for the past week? Can you say...where haven't I been sniffing! I've been out and about...been to each and every mall in the span of one week...I've nyam nyam my fav foods...I've catched up with all my girlfriends....yes and manfriends as well...but I've also been extremely busy working to catch up on the piled up work I neglected during my exams.
Okay, after my last paper was over...I was told that I'd have to present my research project 'Breast Cancer Detection' to MIMOS (Msia's research company) in Putrajaya on Monday! I was half dead from my finals...didn't have much brain juice left...I worked my arse off...got the slides ready and headed to Putrajaya with my lecturer and we presented our bit after lunch.FREE FOOD :P
Lunch was by the Putrajaya lake...photos are horrible because I was too shy to snap being I was supposed to be all professional n nerdy.
The panel were 3 extremely intelligent men...I was a little intimidated but I believe I held my own...hahah...as usual the men were suprised I was already a MEng student...yes I know I look FOREVER 21 :P
At night as I zoomed back...I met up with Porkchop at Old Town Kopitiam since it was her only day off...I could say we had an intellectual conversation but that would be lying! She's my guru on everything and anything really...always with an original opinion...men, fashion, work, cat fights...
The night ended with me totally half asleep...totally wiped out...I hopped on the bed and for those who know me super well....BEGAN MY SLEEP MARATHON!
Well, its been a....pleasure...torture...a very love hate relationship really...my first year as a Master of Engineering (Telecommunications) student...thats for you people that ask me...eh MBA ah :P So the term will come to an end at 5pm! YYYYEEEEHAAAWWW!
I've learnt so much...realised so much...I think the thing I discovered thats made a big difference this time around is thatI GOTTA PLAY JUST AS HARD WHEN I WORK HARD:P
You could say I played harder at school...worked harder in Uni...but I think I've managed to mash them both today.Being at home in PeeJay has made my day life faaaaaar more adventurous in comparison to Cyberjaya life *OMG...MMU people nods in agreement. Thus, its far easier to sit my ass down at nites and pull out em black and white gibberish notes.
So I'm off to kick some NERD arse tomorrow! Its Fiber Optics...DuDubutt n Pals...yeah its Sulaiman's paper again! He's ditched us all half way through the sem n off to another country *Spank!
